Ya jianwen,... I didnt read the book, but I attended a 2-day course on system thinking by an american trainer. I agree with what you said. Like what I said in my previous blog, we cant finish talking about system thinking in one blog alone...so.. what i didnt say doesnt mean that I am telling you are wrong... its just that I didnt say.
Regarding your point "Is human to be not humble". I disagree with what you say. Whether you are humble or not firstly depends on your upbringing and the environment that you are brought up in.
There are many great men in the world (dead or alive), and they are all humble people.
But there are many many more other people who are not humble.
To cut the long story short, the majority of the people in the world are not humble. Your choice is, do you want to take the effort to be humble, so that you can improve, or do you want to follow the majority of the people in the world, and be contented with what they are?
Even simon cowell (americal idol) used the word "humility (means to be humble)" on some of the contestants. He feels that, if you are not humble enough, you will not be a great performer, and if you are not humble enough, you are not fit to be an idol. He said that, in this level of high competition, good will not be good enough, you need to be great.
Those were his comments.
Even the ministers used the word "humble" on the late S. Rajaratnam, who passed away two days ago. He was the minister who wrote our national pledge.
The thing is, most people in the world are not having the right attitude, because they choose the easy way out. But, do you want to follow this group of people, just because the majority are like that? Or do you want to look up to the great men in the world, and learn from them?
We talk more over dinner.
